Murdoch Square
A health and education precinct for the future.
An integrated mixed-use development, the Murdoch Square project is an opportunity to create a transit-based destination hub that provides a range of complementary activities.
Hesperia’s contribution to the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct (MHKP) will bring together aged care, specialist medical suites, hotel and medi-hotel, commercial offices and a hospital. Murdoch Square will be embedded with retail, and a food and beverage precinct; tying together the buildings and showcasing a landscaped plaza at the heart.

Project Background
Murdoch Square will become a vibrant hub of activity, at the heart of the Murdoch town centre.
Murdoch Square forms the first stage of the large Murdoch Activity Centre (MAC); a State Government ‘strategic priority active area’. Located directly adjacent to two of WA’s largest tertiary hospitals, and just 13 kilometres from the Perth CBD along Kwinana Freeway; Murdoch Square is strategically positioned to capitalise on the growing residential and commercial catchment.
Murdoch Square has been designed as a community asset to support tertiary institutions, hospitals and research institutes. When complete, it will be home to a significant onsite population consisting of residents, office workers, medical specialists, patients and visitors and provide a place for the neighbourhood to live, work and play.
The MAC is projected to become the largest employment hub outside of the Perth CBD, supporting more than 35,000 jobs, over 22,000 residents and an estimated 44,000 students and Hesperia are proud to be collaborating with the State Government.
Project Details
Maximising the use of location and space to create a truly mixed-use development.
Murdoch Square offers excellent accessibility, with major bus, road and rail networks close by. On site, specialist medical consulting suites and commercial offices sit alongside a childcare centre, retail outlets, and a range of food and beverage options.
The 150-key Courtyard hotel, operated by global leaders, Marriott International, offers facilities including a gym and restaurant. Residential apartments at the precinct include specialist disability accommodation, along with a 182 bed aged care facility. In a first for Western Australia, the precinct will also house a 80 bed medi-hotel with the capacity to accommodate patients undergoing treatment and recovery from nearby tertiary facilities inherently reducing the demand on the hospital system.
The project delivers over 60,000m2 of gross floor area set across 1.2 hectares of land. Connecting 5 buildings across three green titles with a united basement and plaza, Murdoch Square is a great example of Hesperia’s ability to streamline the complicated and achieve commercial outcomes, while benefiting the wider community.
