Hot Bread Group set to open new venue at Victoria House

The brains behind Perth’s favourite bakeries, North Street Store, Big Loaf Factory Bakery and Little Loaf Lunch Bar, are set to open their first full-service, alfresco-style venue as part of Hesperia’s Victoria House development in Shenton Park.
Utilising 350 sqm of floorspace in the newly restored State Heritage-listed Victoria House, hospitality heavyweights Lachlan Bisset and Craig Stewart of Hot Bread Retail Group will create a venue to form the centrepiece of the $65 million mixed-use project.
With a vision to create a venue that is equal parts country club and daily market, patrons will be spoilt for choice from takeaway offerings and staple kitchen provisions to all day dine-in with the ability to settle in and enjoy a drink on premise.
Lachlan and Craig are passionate about creating a unique offering that provides genuine amenity within a community. Fulfilling their mission “to shape a world where people eat better”, Hot Bread’s new venture will be no exception.
“To date, the success of our business-model has been based on serving up what people need in a no-fuss, unpretentious way.
“From the outset, we’ve always firmly believed that everyone should be able to enjoy great bread and have a baker within their local community they can trust. It’s this ethos that we’ve woven throughout all our ventures and it’s one we will be imbuing at every touch point at Victoria House,” said Lachlan.
Hesperia Director Kyle Jeavons said selecting the perfect hospitality tenant was intrinsic to developing and sustaining a thriving community, with the new concept from Hot Bread Group a welcome addition to Victoria House.
“Across our mixed-use developments we have always been conscious of the importance of hospitality and how fundamental a great offering is, to not only the immediate community of residents but the surrounding area too.
“We’ve been incredibly selective with our tenant mix, and truly believe we’ve curated a vibrant, complementary selection of retail, health and hospitality tenants. Partnerships with operators like Lachlan and Craig will cement Victoria House as a development with a sense of neighbourhood familiarity at its heart,” said Kyle.
Inspired by the beauty of the heritage building, Bisset and Stewart have been working to blend the indoor and outdoor spaces to create a venue that fulfills the needs of the new residents through a diverse mix of spaces and a unique product offering.
“We’ve spent a lot of time exploring the heritage of the building and we’ve been really inspired by what has been previously, but also by the unique opportunity to create something the community can really embrace as their own.
“This venue will definitely be different to our others, but there will still be the welcoming, community-mindedness of North Street Store and Little Loaf. For us, it’s like a different album by the same band,” said Lachlan.
“Whether you’re picking up breakfast or lunch on the go, bread and essentials for the family, an afternoon cinnamon scroll or are looking to relax outdoors with a glass of wine in hand at golden hour – we’re certain there’ll be a reason for everyone to visit,” said Craig.
The new venue is set to open in line with the completion of Victoria House which is slated for late-2022, with construction well under way by Perth’s leading local builder, PACT Construction.
Developed by the team behind highly acclaimed heritage projects the State Buildings and COMO The Treasury, Victoria House is a genuine collaboration between Hesperia and a carefully selected group of local design specialists.
The project team comprises of a range of leading design practices including architect MJA Studio, FINESPUN (project architect), Palassis Architects (heritage architect) and Place Laboratory (landscape architect).
