Ride for Youth Fundraiser
February 24, 2022
Hesperia is once again participating in the annual Hawaiian Ride for Youth, cycling from Albany to Perth to raise funds and awareness in support of Youth Focus and its mental health services.
Project Accountant Gráinne Byrne and Data Analytics Lead Tim Sondalini will be representing Hesperia on the team. The team will also be comprised of riders from multiple organisations we work with.
To support our cyclists ahead of the 700km event in March, we held an afternoon of entertainment and fundraising at Servo in Leederville. We are delighted to share that $17,000 was raised for Youth Focus from ticket sales and the live auction.
Director Kyle Jeavons was outstanding as event MC, ensuring attendees dug deep during the auction. The afternoon was completed by the beautiful voice of our own Zoe Tsagalis and Brian Finn.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended for their support and generosity on the day, as well as the raft of donors who made our auction possible: Fini Group, Prendiville Group, Larry Cherubino, The Raft Perth, Wholesome Market and Alene Sullivan, Indigo Oscar, Vans Café, Il Lido, Lamonts, Core Focus Pilates, Sal’s Pasta, Highs and Lows, The After Hours Co, Gloucester Park, Perth Wildcats, Endota Spa and Artrage.
As a proud Official Partner of the event since 2018, Hesperia is pleased to deliver these funds to Youth Focus to help enable the delivery of free and accessible professional counselling services to thousands of young people and their families each year.
Youth Focus also provides group-based therapy, mentoring, vocational support and education programs to schools, workplaces and communities across the State.
During the four-day ride through towns in the South West, Great Southern and Wheatbelt, Ride for Youth participants visit high schools to educate students on issues of youth suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, while raising awareness of the services that Youth Focus provides.
